Upcoming Road Closures | May 7, 9 Concerts

Upcoming on Saturday, May 7 to Monday, May 9, Thunderbird Boulevard will be closed between East Mall and Thunderbird Parkade. Vehicles will only be able to enter the Thunderbird Parkade from Wesbrook Mall which will slow traffic on entry and exit.

Attendees of the OPETH (May 7) and KALEO (May 9) Concerts are advised to park at Health Sciences Parkade instead.

Remarkable Night for Sold-Out Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour Tour

Vancouver, BC – Grammy-winning singer/songwriter, Olivia Rodrigo’s Vancouver performance of the Sour Tour took place on April 7, 2022, here at the Thunderbird Arena. The Sour Tour not only marked Rodrigo’s first world tour but her first concert in Vancouver. The sold-out crowd loved every minute of her performance, singing along, dancing away; what a night it was.


Backstage, we welcomed Rodrigo with a custom-made wall mural highlighting the success of the concert with a touch of Vancouver.

Lauv will be coming to Vancouver as a part of his All 4 Nothing Tour! Watch Lauv perform live at Vancouver’s UBC – Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre on September 17, 2022.

Just For Laughs is thrilled to announce that TOM SEGURA will be coming to Vancouver, BC as part of his “I’M COMING EVERYWHERE – WORLD TOUR.” The comedian and podcast host will be at Vancouver’s UBC – Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre on July 7, 2022.

About Tom Segura

Actor/Comedian/Writer Tom Segura is one of the biggest names in the comedy business.  He recently performed to sold-out audiences on his 100+ city TAKE IT DOWN TOUR. He is best known for his Netflix specials, Ball Hog (2020), Disgraceful (2018), Mostly Stories (2016), and Completely Normal (2014). Chris Rock is one of the world’s most important comedic voices, as well as an award-winning actor, director, producer, and writer.

Rock recently wrapped production on the upcoming Higher Ground produced biopic, Rustin.

In 2021 Rock starred as Loy Cannon in season 4 of FX’s Emmy-winning drama series Fargo. He also teamed up with Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures in the reimagining of the newest Saw franchise movie, Spiral, in which he produced and starred in. His most recent standup special, Total Blackout: The Tamborine Extended Cut, is now streaming on Netflix.

In 2014 Rock wrote, directed and starred in the award-winning comedy film Top Five. He also wrote, directed and starred in Head of State and I Think I Love my Wife.


His other film credits include The Week Of, the Grown Ups and Madagascar franchises, 2 Days in New York, Death at a Funeral, Nurse Betty, Dogma, the hip-hop comedy CB4, and New Jack City.


Rock’s big break in television started as a cast member on Saturday Night Live. He executive produced, wrote and narrated the award-winning series Everybody Hates Chris.


In 2011 Rock made his Broadway debut starring in Stephen Adly Guirgis’s The Motherf**ker With The Hat.


Beyond acting, Rock directed HBO’s comedy special Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo and executive produced Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell. In 2009 Rock ventured into the documentary world as the writer and producer of Good Hair. The critically acclaimed film won the Sundance Special Jury Prize and the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Documentary.


In 2016 Rock returned to host the 88th Annual Academy Awards.


Rock may be best known for his comedy specials Tamborine, Kill the Messenger, Never Scared, Bigger & Blacker and Bring the Pain. Rock took home two Emmy Awards for Bring the Pain and one for Kill the Messenger. He won Grammy Awards for Bring the Pain, Never Scared and Bigger & Blacker.


In addition to winning four Emmy Awards and three Grammy Awards, Rock is also a New York Times Best-Selling Author.

Just Announced: OPETH North American Spring Tour With Mastodon

OPETH Confirms North American Spring Tour

With Mastodon; Tickets on Sale This Friday




OPETH will return to the stage this Spring on the second leg of their North American co-headlining tour with Mastodon. The journey will commence April 21st in Montreal, Quebec and make its way through sixteen US and Canadian cities, coming to a close on May 11th in Riverside, California. See all confirmed dates below.

Comments OPETH mainman Mikael Åkerfeldt, ”We’re excited to come back to North America for the second leg of shows together with our ‘brothers from other mothers’ in Mastodon. And… hello, Canada! It’s been too long, we know! We’ll soon dust off the ole guitars etc. and get in shape for this run. The last tour was quite splendid; the only downside being the restrictions. We don’t know for sure how it’s going to pan out this time around, but we’re hoping for a bit more freedom to move around. Crossing fingers here. See you semi-soon! Behind the scenes, we’ve been working hard and dedicating our time to making a safe return of events in 2022. 1) Olivia Rodrigo: SOUR Tour

Get excited for the Grammy-nominated, critically acclaimed singer/songwriter, Olivia Rodrigo, to hit Vancouver on April 7th and tour more than 40 major cities across North America and Europe on her SOUR Tour! Fresh off her win as “New Artist of the Year” at the American Music Awards, the tour announcement caps off Rodrigo’s banner year, which, most recently saw her earn her seven nominations for the 2022 Grammy Awards making her the second-youngest artist in Grammy history to score nods in each of the Big Four categories in the same year.

2) Royal Blood: North America Tour 2022

Keep your dancing shoes on, Royal Blood are also back in April! And their future starts here. Brighton duo Royal Blood are delighted and thrilled to the core to announce their North America Tour in 2022! Though the pandemic had delayed the release of the new album, Typhoons, no worries, they say: more time to refine, distill, perfect.

3) KALEO: Fight or Flight Tour

The wait is finally over to see Grammy-nominated rock band KALEO! Initially set for the summer of 2020, the newly announced dates for the worldwide tour’s North American leg are now on sale. KALEO released their highly-anticipated album, Surface Sounds, this past April.

4) Avril Lavigne: Bite Me Canada Tour 2022

Avril Lavigne‘s first Canadian headline tour in over ten years is kicking off in early May and making a stop in Vancouver on May 24th. 2022 also celebrates the 20th anniversary of Avril’s iconic and ground-breaking diamond-selling album “Let Go”. “I’m so excited to come home and rock out with you Canada! I can’t wait to see you in person this Spring!”, shares Avril.

5) HAIM: One More HAIM Tour

HAIM, the acclaimed Southern California-bred sister act have announced their North American tour for Spring and Summer 2022 in support of their latest album ‘Women In Music Pt. III.’ Promoted by Live Nation, the band will kick off the 27-date One More HAIM Tour on April 24th in Las Vegas, NV, and hit major cities across North America including Vancouver on June 10th.

6) 5 Seconds of Summer: Take My Hand World Tour
